Heywood Mok 莫肇軒

 

Heywood Mok studied music in Hong Kong Baptist University and received the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music and Master of Arts in Young Children Music. He furthered his studies in Goldsmiths, University of London and obtained the Master of Music in Violin Performance. He studied violin under Jensen Lung, Dr. Gilbert Sak, Dr. Devorina Gamalova and Ofer Falk, and received Irish Fiddle training from Pete Cooper. He also participated in numbers of violin masterclasses held by Prof. Vadim Tchijik, Prof. Ingolf Turban, Prof. Alexander Ivashkin and Prof. Roswitha Randacher. Besides, he was coached by players from Allegri Quartet and Coull Quartet in playing chamber music.

 

Awarded the LTCL Diploma in violin of Trinity College London, Heywood has various teaching experiences in different schools and organizations. Some recent positions include the Summer Music workshop of the Music Office (LCSD) teacher, Yao Jue Music Academy teacher and St. John’s Primary School String Orchestra conductor. Currently, he teaches in Yip's Children's Choral and Performing Arts Centre, Yew Chung International School, "Jockey Club Power of Music Programme" and some other schools. He also conducts Shatin Pui Ying College and Tai Pak Memorial School String Orchestra. Besides, he holds the ABRSM grade 8 piano, singing and music theory qualifications.

 

Heywood Mok performs frequently as a soloist and chamber or orchestra player. He performed in major venues in Hong Kong, Mainland China, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Austria. He now plays violin in the Hong Kong String Orchestra and Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, and he is also a freelance violinist of the City Chamber Orchestra Hong Kong. He founded Music Makers and is active as a violin teacher and performer in live events.

 

莫肇軒在香港浸會大學修讀音樂，取得音樂文學士（榮譽）及幼兒音樂文學碩士。他其後於倫敦大學金史密斯取得音樂碩士學位，主修小提琴演奏及相關研究。在學期間他師從龍向輝先生、石家灃博士、Dr. Devorina Gamalova及Ofer Falk學習小提琴，亦跟隨Pete Cooper學習愛爾蘭民族音樂。他曾參與多個小提琴以及室內樂大師班，得到Prof. Vadim Tchijik、Prof. Ingolf Turban、Prof. Alexander Ivashkin、Prof. Roswitha Randacher、Allegri 四重奏和Coull四重奏成員等的指導。

 

莫氏擁有英國聖三一音樂學院高級演奏文憑的資格（LTCL），亦考獲英國皇家音樂學院的八級鋼琴、聲樂及樂理。莫氏擁有多年的教學經驗，曾任教於不同學校和機構，亦擔任學校樂團指揮。他近年的教學經驗包括於音樂事務處任教暑期音樂班、擔任聖約翰小學弦樂團指揮及姚珏天才音樂學院導師等。他現任教於葉氏兒童音樂實踐中心、耀中國際學校、「賽馬會音樂能量計劃」及其他學校，同為沙田培英中學及泰伯紀念學校弦樂團指揮。此外，他亦曾於倫敦擔任英國皇家音樂學院樂理考試的監考員。

莫氏一向積極參與各類演出和工作，演出項目包括獨奏、室內樂合奏及管弦樂團，亮相於香港、中國內地、英國、法國、德國及奧地利等地。他現為香港弦樂團及泛亞交響樂團的小提琴手，亦是香港城市室樂團的特約樂手。他成立了樂師工作室，教授及演奏小提琴。
